Chinese Medicine/ Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a 5000 year old complete medical system that takes the laws and patterns of nature and applies them to the human body. TCM is based upon treating the root cause of illnesses, not just their symptoms. Holistic in its approach; it views every aspect of a person—body, mind, spirit, and emotions—as part of one complete circle rather than pieces to be treated individually. It is composed of the following aspects:
Qigong: energy exercises, generally encompassing simple movements and postures. Herbal Therapy: the use of herbal formulas to strengthen and support organ system function. Foods for Healing: the prescription of certain foods for healing based on their energetic make up, rather than amount of protein, carbs and fat. Chinese Psychology: the understanding of emotions and their relationship to the internal organ systems and their influence on health. Acupressure: the use of specific hand techniques to help Qi flow smoothly. (Amma Bodywork Therapy) Acupuncture: the insertion of needles in acu-points to aid Qi flow.
Hands on Health treats the whole person with our integrated approach.
